After experiencing many events where people reach for the photo strips from the printer and try to pull on them as they are coming out, there have been times when doing this the printer gets jammed.  Sometimes the guests actually push the strips in as they are printing and this can cause the paper and ribbon to get caught inside the printer and at times break the media ribbon.

After seeing a few posts on some of the Facebook Groups such as the Photo Booth Network, we decided to give this D.I.Y method a try and it works!  I performed this experiment on the DNP RX1 HS printer.

Using a heat & air deflector and some industrial strength velcro, it took just a few minutes to get this setup.

If you try this there are a few things to consider:

• This may void your warranty, Use at your own risk
• Be sure to keep the guard off when loading new paper and only attach after the printer has calibrated the media. 
• Only use this after the media and ribbon has gone through the calibration.
